Catch the Titans Entertainment new talent showcase featuring emerging hip hop performer Inspekta on 12th October from 7 to 10pm at the Fashion Meets Music Westfield Stratford store.
Once described as “MC Type: cocky” in HHC magazine, Inspekta started his rap career as one half of the rap duo R-I-P (The Rippah-Inspekt ‘a’ Rhyme-Pact). Inspekta could be heard on SpitFire Rec. promo CD’s from as early as 2001. He was involved in the Spitfire/ Illegal Aid mixtape ‘Who Run Tings Vol. 1’ that was released back in 2003 and critically acclaimed. He went on to release the well-received 12” double A-side entitled ‘Paper Chase/Angels and Devils’ in 2004 under the group name of R-I-P. This single received very good press on both the web and in established publications such as Blues & Soul, Undercover Magazine and many more. Since then he has been working on the side accumulating tracks, building his character and working hard on creating a unique style that he can comfortably call his own.
In 2006 Inspekta went on to release the Dreams EP that was mainly produced by Off Key and LeEo (Iron Oath). It was very well received in reviews, receiving quotes from a number of online platforms like Britishhiphop.co.uk.
In 2013, Inspekta completed and released- The Bassment Mixtape, the mixtape shows how he has evolved massively in growth and maturity with his music, displaying heartfelt melodic songs along with an array of high spirit ‘house’ and ‘big bass’ inspired anthems. It is also shown with the diversity of producers whom he chose to work with on the project; the list includes Half Decent (produced for Knothead and Kitty Cowell), Death of HiFi (produced for Copywrite and Dizzy Dustin of Ugly Duckling, Joe Kane, Candy Gang and many more.
Inspekta has performed at well known London venues like Cargo, Brixton Jamm and Camden Rock and similarly in Oxfordshire venues like Fat Lils, Izi, Port Mahon, The Cellar and The Coven. He has also supported acts like Skinnyman, L Dot Man, Lowkey, MC Lars, Akira the Don and Blak Twang. Inspekta never disappoints to please the crowd and always has what it takes to keep people moving.
