Kanye West, Rihanna and Jay-Z are already music moguls and the “Run This Town” trio has further cemented their legacy – as billionaires. This week, Forbes published their 36th Annual World’s Billionaires List and all three made the cut (among a total of 2,668 people).
Kanye West:

Kanye’s fortune is thanks largely to his Yeezy empire, which has lucrative partnerships with big-name brands like Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga. He was first named a billionaire by Forbes in 2020 and has shot up over $200 million in value (and 200 places) since last year’s list. However, Kanye doesn’t necessarily agree with Forbes’ estimation. In 2020, when Forbes first recognised Kanye as a billionaire, they reported his net worth was $1.3 billion, whereas Kanye stated it was $3.3 billion — and that Forbes doesn’t know how to count.
Rihanna

Rihanna makes her debut on the Forbes list this year. Not only is she the richest female musician on the planet, but she is also Barbados’ first billionaire! It’s no wonder then, that she was officially declared a National Hero of Barbados during a ceremony marking the country’s new status as a republic. Rihanna hasn’t dropped music since 2016, so we know this isn’t where she’s securing the bag! Instead, her wealth stems from her Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand and Savage X Fenty lingerie line.
Jay Z

- Estimated net worth = $1.4 billion
The New York native became hip hop’s first billionaire in 2019 and his net worth has increased since — thanks partly due to the sales of TIDAL (for $302 million) and his 50% share of Armand de Brignac (for $600 million). Of course, Jay Z still has his Roc Nation to count as part of his empire, in addition to investments he’s made across the sports, video games and legal cannabis industries that will continue to further his fortune.
